This structurally challenging build employed state-of-the-art technology to achieve a worldwide first in scale, mechanics and design. Krongold realised an ambitious design that blurred the boundaries between indoors and out by creating a 7m x 3.5m electrically operated, drop-down glass wall that disappears into a subtle cavity for seamless indoor-outdoor living. A cantilevered concrete section extends the roofline to protect an expansive terrace for one of Melbourne’s most distinguished private homes.

When I started out as an architect, one of the first builders I worked for was Elek Krongold the founder. Elek taught me a lot and it was a pleasure to work with him. Krongold Constructions is a unique building company. They work with the best tradesmen and have a very strong loyal, relationship with them all. I have enjoyed working with all three generations.
